Glad you asked! There are heaps of exciting official Make Poverty History events being organised.
During the morning, participants of Miles per Hour will do a media stunt, involving a big photo at Waterfront Docklands, as a curtain raiser for all the action in the coming two days.
Afternoon: High level civil society forum in Melbourne Town Hall, with international and Australian activists, academics and speakers. This will be a very engaging and prominent alternative forum to the G20 meeting, and will bring together great thinkers to explore poverty and social justice.
During the day, participants of Miles per Hour will do a media stunt, involving a big photo in a central place in Melbourne, possibly aligned with other big public displays being organised for the Make Poverty History Concert.
6-11pm: Make Poverty History Concert – Myer Music Bowl Melbourne. The largest and most inspiring Make Poverty History event ever held in Australia. Be there with some of Australia's best loved performers and thousands of other audience members. Participants of Miles per Hour will take an active part in the Concert
While the G20 meets, Make Poverty History campaign members will be hosting a festival, with music, stalls, speakers and generally a fun day out.
The Oaktree Foundation will also be hosting its Inaugural Conference at Monash University.
Free day, and Oaktree Conference continues. |
